Minority Vets
Supply Drop
Tour 2021
Minority and veteran communities have disproportionately suffered the negative health and economic impacts of the pandemic, so we launched the MVA Supply Drop Tour.

When Can I Apply?
Applications for each supply drop will open on the day posted in the above section.
Applications will be accepted up to 5 days in advance of the event and until all spots have been filled after that. Our teams will be in communications with you with event information and will notify you no later than 4 days in advance of the event.
Once selected, participants will receive and email with directions to the pick-up location, pick-up logistics, and appointment time confirmation.
All applicants must be a member of Minority Veterans of America, reside in the greater city area, and be a veteran. If you are not yet a member, membership is free and can be obtained here.
You must submit one form verification of veteran identity or proof of service. This can be provided in any of the following formats:
- Redacted DD-214
- Scanned VA ID
- DoD Retired ID
- VA Letter of Service (Available at va.gov)
- NGB Forms 22 and 22A
If you are unable to find this documentation or do not have any of the above, please reach out to Vivian at supplydrop@minorityvets.org
Supply Drop Components
Each supply drop we host has a few components. First, we advertise each supply drop and begin accepting applications. Each application has a series of demographic questions, military service questions, and questions pertaining to the supplies that you need. After you submit your application, we will reach out to you to verfiy your service status and finalize your eligibility. Once your eligibility is verified and you’re an approved recipient, we will pack your supplies and book your pick-up appointment time.
On the day of the event, you’ll arrive, check-in, and we’ll provide your supplies. For more information on day-of logistics, see the section below.
Supply Drop Logsitics
Each supply drop we do varies dependent upon location. We look to serve each community based on their unique needs.
Once we confirm locations for each supply drop, we will update this page, as well as letting each recipient know in their confirmation emails.
Pick-up sites operate like drive-thrus. When you arrive at a supply drop pick-up site, you’ll pull into the parking lot and we’ll check you in from your vehicle. From there, we will direct you where you drive and someone from the MVA team will load your supplies into your vehicle.
If you are are using public transportation and arrive on foot, that’s okay too! We’ll make sure to get you back home.
Do I need an ‘Honorable Discharge’ to participate?
Nope!
In many instances, veterans did not receive fair or proper discharge statuses – which is why we do not care about your discharge characterization – we only care that you served.
Holding true to our mission of creating belonging and advancing equity for minority veterans, we do not believe that your discharge status should be a barrier to access for participation.
I’ve applied. Now what?
Though applications have a deadline, we try to approve them on a rolling basis within 48 hours of submission.
Applicants will be selected after reviewing responses to the application and verifying service.
Once selected, participants will receive and email with directions to the pick-up location, pick-up logistics, and appointment time confirmation.
